he first round of MakerClub in 2020 will feature a favourite guest at the library – local artist, Tim Snyder – an animator turned syndicated cartoonist who’s work can be seen in newspapers across the country, including weekly in the Wellington Times.
Tim will be at the Picton branch on Wednesdays to run a series of six workshops that will explore the world of sequential art in a hands-on environment!
Kids will learn how to create a comic book or comic strip, and can attend one or all of the workshops.
These workshops will run weekly on Wednesdays at 3 p.m. from Jan. 15 – Feb. 19, 2020. Ages 10+. Only 15 spots available. $10 per session, or $50 for all six! Cash or cheque only; due upon date of workshop.
Alternatively, kids in Wellington (or anywhere) can attend their regularly scheduled sessions on Tuesdays from 4-5pm starting Jan. 14, where Joanna will be exploring the world of cartooning with various hands-on activities ranging from comic creation to motion flip books, and more!
As always, staff-run MakerClubs are free, ages 7+, and registration is highly recommended. Drop-ins are welcome if space is available.
