We are delighted to announce that on August 6 at 2:00 PM David Frum will join us for a discussion of his latest book, Trumpocalypse. He will be joined by Dr. Thomas Harrison. In 2018 the two discussed Frum’s previous book, Trumpocracy, at a packed Regent Theatre, supporting the library’s expansion project. This time the conversation will be held online via Zoom—all are welcome! Fill out the form below to register. (Alternatively, you can click HERE or call 613-476-5962 to register.) Have a question for David Frum? email frumquestions@peclibrary.org.
Trumpocalypse covers what happens after the Trumpocracy. “A huge swath of Americans have put their faith in Trump, and Trump only, because they see the rest of the country building a future that doesn’t have a place for them. If they would risk their lives for Trump in a pandemic, they will certainly risk the stability of American democracy. They brought the Trumpocalypse upon the country, and a post-Trumpocalypse country will have to find a way either to reconcile them to democracy—or to protect democracy from them.”
