‘Renew’ is an online auction of curated contemporary and historic art, in support of the PEC Library’s ‘Time to Renew’ Expansion Fundraising Campaign. The auction starts April 1 at midnight and closes April 30 at noon, giving you a month to place your best blind bids on your favourite pieces.
Built in 1906, Picton’s Carnegie Library is now bursting at the seams, and plans to restore the existing library and build a three story extension at the back are well underway. Highlights include an expanded collection, an enlarged children’s area, and a dedicated Makerspace for STEM learning. The expansion will also include flexible quiet workspaces and meeting rooms, improved accessibility and clean, comfortable public washrooms. These improvements are designed to service all patrons better and provide even more services for free! ‘Time to Renew”is a once in a lifetime fund raising campaign for the library, which so far has raised over $1,500,000 of the $2 million dollar expansion budget. Construction of the expansion is slated to begin in the summer of 2019.
